Veterans Peer Support Specialist

Job Summary
Educate veterans on recovery elements through shared experience and support goal development. Assist individuals in accessing social services, housing, employment, and entitlement benefits while navigating the service system for continuing care. Maintain contact via street outreach, recruit from local shelters using HMIS, and transport to appointments as needed. Facilitate peer support groups, teach psychoeducation classes, and provide crisis intervention for emergency requests. Respond to technical assistance calls during VA case conferences. Maintain a valid driver's license and proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health records.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Registered peer support specialist or ability to become RPSS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Experience with Electronic Health Records
- Must currently have or be able to obtain a valid Driver's License within first 45 days
