Job Summary
Manage a service officer team of local and remote staff to assist warriors in obtaining Department of Defense and Veterans Benefits Administration benefits. Lead the team as liaison between the VA and wounded service members, writing and submitting claims while handling an active caseload of at least 33% of the team's average workload. Provide frequent performance feedback, establish knowledgeable service officers, and deliver training to maintain VA accreditation. Represent WWP at third-party events, build partnerships with local representatives and military organizations, and report progress on benefit trends using process data. Ensure budget management with proper expense controls and attend required training and meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Five years of veterans benefits advocacy experience as a VA accredited service officer
- Three years of leadership and/or management experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Department of Veterans Affairs certification as an accredited agent
- Ability to obtain ASIST Certification within 1 year of hire
- Up to 40% travel
Desired Qualifications
- Five years of experience preparing, and filling veterans benefits claims and providing representation and advocacy
- Four or more years of leadership/management experience
