Job Summary
Provide one-on-one peer support to veterans and their families, assisting clients in setting recovery goals and connecting them to community resources. Facilitate or coordinate peer support and psychoeducational groups while representing the Veterans Program in outreach efforts. Maintain timely documentation and complete data entry in required systems, collaborating with team members to attend meetings and supervision. This part-time role requires 20–25 hours per week, with some evenings and weekends, and is located in Houston, TX in a hybrid setting. Candidates must be U.S. Military Veterans with lived experience in mental health recovery and hold a Certified Peer Specialist certification or eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Military Veteran
- Lived experience with a mental health condition and active participation in recovery
- Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) or eligible to obtain (required within 90 days of hire)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- High School Diploma or GED required
