Job Summary
Part-Time Veteran Care Technician for The Salvation Army VA Contract program in North Las Vegas, NV. Responsible for coordinating and comprehensive services delivered to veterans by The Salvation Army Veteran Services. Duties include overseeing compliance with facility rules, providing support services to veteran residents, assisting with intake and discharge and client orientation, data entry into the HMIS system, coordinating care with VA personnel and service providers, tracking progression of veterans through participation, overseeing medication management, assisting veterans with employment readiness services, delivering crisis-oriented interventions, attending scheduled team meetings and trainings, and handling other duties and special projects as assigned. Requires an Associate degree in a Human Service field or equivalent experience, strong communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, valid Nevada driver license, ability to pass background check, and relevant experience with veterans and case management.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in a Human Service related discipline
- Minimum one year of related employment experience may be substituted for degree requirements
- Experience working with homeless and/or at-risk veterans preferred
- Experience in case management and/or individual counseling
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Must have a valid Nevada Driver License and clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Veteran Status Preferred
