Job Summary
Conduct relief veterinary services at Petco Vaccination Clinics or Total Care full-service hospitals across 48 states. Perform basic wellness checks, vaccinations, heartworm testing, and microchip placement at clinics, or manage outpatient surgeries, dental procedures, and diagnostic workups at hospitals equipped with ultrasound and digital X-rays. Deliver care in appointment-based settings with trained staff handling operations, ensuring timely shifts without overnight or emergency on-call requirements. Maintain state licensure, DEA registration, and professional liability insurance. Set your own shift rates and schedule flexible weekday or weekend hours.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine state license in good standing
- Appropriate state-specific licensing to perform all shift functions including the ability to perform blood draws & administer vaccines
- DEA in good standing required for full-service Vetco Total Care hospital relief shifts
- Ability to provide Professional Liability Insurance + license defense policy
- Compliance with all local state and federal mandates
