Job Summary
Relief veterinarian position for Vetco Vaccination Clinics and Vetco Total Care hospitals at Petco, offering flexible shifts, appointment-based workflow, and no agency fees. Responsibilities include providing veterinary care within vaccination clinics (no surgeries) and full-service hospital settings, performing vaccines and blood draws, and maintaining high standards of patient care with support from trained staff. Requires Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with active state license, DEA license for hospital relief shifts, and professional liability insurance. Eligible to practice across Vetco locations with the option to set shift compensation and enjoy benefits such as Petco product discounts. Experience with preventive care, diagnostics, outpatient procedures, and adherence to local/state/federal mandates is expected. Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine state license in good standing
- Appropriate state-specific licensing to perform all shift functions including the ability to perform blood draws & administer vaccines
- DEA in good standing required for full-service Vetco Total Care hospital relief shifts
- Ability to provide Professional Liability Insurance + license defense policy
- Compliance with all local state and federal mandates
