Job Summary
Lead veterinary assistant in medical and surgical treatment of animals, including intake, surgery, laboratory diagnostics, radiographs, vaccinations, and animal restraint. Manage kennel hygiene and educate the public on animal health while demonstrating shelter policies. Assist the Medical Director with staff scheduling, inventory control, and process updates. Maintain high standards of care and humane treatment for all animals. Requires previous veterinary technician experience in a high-volume clinic, leadership experience, and ability to work under pressure. Spanish-speaking ability is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers/staff/patrons
- Excellent computer proficiency
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary communication
- Sense of urgency, attention to detail, and flexibility
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Ability to have flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the clinic
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous veterinary technician of four years duration
- Previous leadership experience in a high volume clinic AND shelter

- LVT/RTV/CVT
- Spanish speaking ability
