Job Summary
Provide strategic and operational leadership for nursing services, overseeing staffing, productivity, and workforce planning while supporting safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. Strengthen nursing culture, retention, and employee engagement by developing and mentoring leaders and frontline teams. Oversee regulatory compliance, accreditation, and survey readiness while advancing quality-improvement and patient-safety initiatives. Collaborate with executive leadership, medical staff, and the governing board to improve communication and coordinate responses to evolving community needs. This role requires flexible, visible leadership across critical access hospitals, rural health clinics, and long-term care settings within Vermont.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse licensure or eligibility for Vermont licensure
- Progressive nursing leadership experience
- Experience as a CNO, Vice President of Nursing, Chief Clinical Officer, Director of Nursing, or comparable senior leader
- Strong knowledge of quality, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and nursing operations
- Experience leading teams through growth, transition, or organizational change
- Experience within rural hospitals, Critical Access Hospitals, FQHCs, long-term care organizations, or community healthcare settings
- A bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field
