Job Summary
Provide strategic and operational leadership for an organization's financial functions, including developing budgets, forecasts, and long-term sustainability strategies. Oversee accounting, financial reporting, cash flow, audits, and internal controls while supporting revenue cycle performance and reimbursement strategy. Monitor financial results for executive leadership and the governing board, manage relationships with auditors, banks, and government agencies, and partner with clinical leaders to improve resource stewardship. Navigate growth, transition, or financial uncertainty while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role connects financial decisions directly to patient access, workforce stability, and community trust within Vermont's rural healthcare systems.
Required Qualifications
- Progressive healthcare finance leadership experience
- Experience as a CFO, Vice President of Finance, Controller, Finance Director, or comparable senior leader
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, accounting, audits, reimbursement, and financial reporting
- Experience presenting financial information to boards and executive teams
- An understanding of rural healthcare operations and reimbursement
- Experience with Critical Access Hospitals, FQHCs, Rural Health Clinics, long-term care organizations, or community healthcare organizations
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, healthcare administration, or a related field
- A collaborative, transparent, and relationship-focused leadership style
Desired Qualifications
- A master's degree, CPA, or other advanced credential
