Job Summary
Provide operational and clinical leadership for specialty departments or service lines in rural Vermont hospitals, clinics, and community health centers. Lead, mentor, and develop clinical or technical teams while managing staffing, scheduling, productivity, and department workflows. Support safe, high-quality, patient-centered care by developing policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, preparing for audits, and improving cross-departmental communication. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and executives to monitor quality metrics and ensure essential services remain reliable and responsive to community needs. Opportunities span sterile processing, surgical, laboratory, imaging, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, and rehabilitation services across Critical Access Hospitals and integrated systems.
Required Qualifications
- Progressive experience in the relevant clinical or ancillary specialty
- Previous leadership experience as a director, manager, supervisor, or comparable department leader
- Strong knowledge of department operations, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Experience leading teams, managing workflows, and supporting employee development
- The ability to collaborate across clinical, operational, and executive teams
- Experience with budgeting, staffing, equipment, or performance improvement
- Experience within rural hospitals, Critical Access Hospitals, community hospitals, or other rural healthcare organizations
- Relevant education, licensure, registration, or certification based on the specialty
