Job Summary
On-site Event Representative for WORLDS shows at Vanderbilt Museum (Centerport, NY). Responsibilities include event setup & breakdown (signage, merchandise displays, check-in tables, charging devices), guest experience (greeting, check-in, answering questions), merchandise management (sales, inventory tracking, reporting issues, asset requests), on-site issue resolution, and communication with Venue Operations. Requires 2+ years of customer service or event experience, strong verbal and interpersonal skills, initiative, reliability, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Schedule is Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 4:30pm-8:45pm with initial dates listed; location is Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium in Centerport, NY. Must have reliable transportation and be able to engage with guests and venue staff professionally; tech-savvy with comfort using iPhone apps (including WhatsApp). KPIs focus on guest satisfaction, operational accuracy, communication quality, merchandise management, reliability, and problem solving.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of customer service or event experience (hospitality, retail, or similar roles preferred)
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Reliable transportation to and from the venue
- Consistent availability for scheduled dates
