Job Summary
Founding Director for Catalyze479 Fund based in Northwest Arkansas; design the investment thesis and operational infrastructure, assemble an investment committee, and deploy capital across Venture Validation and Main Street strategies. Lead end-to-end investment processes from sourcing to due diligence and term-sheet negotiation, manage post-investment founder support, build relationships with regional anchors, co-investment networks, and philanthropic partners, serve as the public face of Catalyze479, and hire/manage the fund’s second local hire while scaling systems to grow impact and capital deployed.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years in venture capital, early-stage investing, startup operations, or entrepreneurship
- experience launching new organizations, funds, or programs
- strong relationship-building and deal-sourcing abilities
- ability to mentor founders pre- and post-investment
- existing networks in Northwest Arkansas or willingness to relocate
- comfortable with Excel modeling and financial analysis
- experience hiring and managing investment professionals
- familiarity with pre-seed and seed-stage investment structures (cap table math, term sheets, KPIs)
- experience at the intersection of philanthropy and investing (a plus)
- AI-enabled tooling experience (a plus)
