Venn Officer - Data Quality Assurance (DQA)

Job Summary
Conduct daily data quality assessments to identify duplicates, outliers, missing data, and logical inconsistencies within RTV's primary field-based evaluation surveys. Manage end-to-end audio audits, coordinate back-checks and spot checks, and develop real-time dashboards tracking enumerator productivity and data quality indicators. Design and maintain automated data quality pipelines using R or Python to validate incoming survey data and generate monitoring outputs. Perform root-cause analyses to distinguish between tool design issues, process weaknesses, or enumerator performance challenges, then escalate significant risks to the Senior Officer. Implement and strengthen Data Quality Assurance frameworks across all survey activities while documenting lessons learned in the organizational risk register. Requires 3+ years of experience in data quality assurance for large-scale primary data collection in the development sector; based in Mbarara with 20% travel.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ Years of professional experience in Data Quality Assurance, Data Management supporting large-scale primary data collection
- Demonstrated experience supporting household surveys or other large-scale field-based data collection within the development sector
- Proven experience implementing data quality assurance processes across the survey lifecycle
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, or another quantitative discipline
- Strong analytical and statistical skills with demonstrated ability to profile large datasets, detect anomalies, validate data, and investigate root causes of quality issues
- Practical experience implementing and managing audio audits, back-checks, spot checks, and related verification methodologies
- Proficiency in R, Python, or data cleaning, validation scripting, automation, and statistical analysis
- Experience developing interactive dashboards using Power BI, Looker Studio, or equivalent business intelligence tools
- Must be able to travel 20%
