Job Summary
Provide a world-class onboarding experience to newest Vehicle Transporters during a 1-week training period covering trailer operation, maintenance, and Carvana policies. Serve as the primary trainer, delivering both classroom and hands-on instruction to ensure drivers are up to speed on maneuvering and logistics equipment. Act as a coach and mentor, utilizing skills matrices and evaluation checklists to provide feedback and track skill development. Collaborate with multiple Logistics Managers to facilitate a smooth transition from training to on-the-job duties. Support other projects as needed while managing a 50% travel requirement. This safety-sensitive role requires lifting up to 60 pounds and standing for extended periods in various environmental conditions.
Required Qualifications
- CDL class A and clean driving record
- Have more than two years of CDL driving experience
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- Proficient with word, spreadsheets, systems
- Maintain a DOT Medical card
- 21+ years old
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently
- Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet
- Bend, kneel, twist, squat, stand and climb as required to secure load
- Travel is required 50% of the time
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Ability to develop individuals and teams for organizational success
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is desirable
- System and on the job training experience preferred
- Smith Systems training and/or certification preferred or willing to be certified
