Job Summary

Lead vehicle tightness and environmental attribute development, defining targets and cascading them to subsystem requirements while managing water management and sealing strategies across the full vehicle architecture. Develop and validate comprehensive test plans for rain proofing, dust intrusion, air leakage, and climatic chamber testing, alongside VOC and interior air quality monitoring systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to integrate sealing and material solutions, delivering robust durability solutions that support development and validation phases. Support investigations into tightness and environmental issues detected during testing or field operations, while mentoring junior engineers to enhance technical skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in vehicle tightness or environmental development and testing
  • Solid background in vehicle architecture with focus on BIW, Doors & Closures, Exterior, Interior, EE systems and Powertrain components affected by environmental exposure
  • Comprehensive knowledge of water management systems, sealing technologies, electro‐mechanical component insulation and environmental durability mechanisms
  • Experience with environmental durability validation such as climatic chamber testing, solar radiation exposure and thermal aging of materials
  • Understanding of interior material aging including color and gloss durability, trim degradation and environmental exposure impacts
  • Experience in manufacturing processes related to sealing (Body/Paint), plastic injection and general assembly
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively while working collaboratively with cross‐functional teams and external engineering and testing suppliers
  • Ability to perform effectively under high‐pressure conditions typical of a fast‐moving automotive development environment
  • Strong problem‐solving skills with attention to engineering fundamentals and practical solutions
  • Self‐motivated with strong ownership mindset and continuous improvement mentality
  • Excellent project management, problem‐solving, analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across cross‐functional engineering teams and suppliers
