Job Summary
Greet, approach, and assist every customer entering the showroom or sales lot by listening to their needs and explaining vehicle performance, features, and benefits. Sells and leases new and used vehicles, offering test drives and describing optional equipment while ensuring all federal, state, and local sales laws are followed. Processes paperwork, writes sales orders, and delivers vehicles to customers, introducing them to service personnel and following up on post-delivery items to maintain satisfaction. Satisfies transportation needs for purchasers while adhering to dealership gross profit and volume standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws which govern retail automobile sales
- Ability to explain depreciation to the customer
