Job Summary
Perform mechanical repair work on school buses, trucks and other gas- and diesel-powered automotive equipment; disassemble motors and repair/replace parts; overhaul transmissions, brakes, and related systems; inspect, diagnose, and test vehicles; read and interpret schematics and repair manuals; maintain maintenance records and ensure compliance with safety and emissions standards; operate and use a range of diagnostic and power tools; assist with inventory and tool maintenance; requires knowledge of gasoline/diesel engines, proper lifting techniques, and basic computer skills; holds a Kentucky Class B CDL and coursework toward ASE certification.
Required Qualifications
- Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma, G.E.D. Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law and two-years of experience in general automotive repair.
- Valid Kentucky Commercial Class B Driver’s License; course work toward ASE Certification
