Job Summary
Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel and gasoline-powered engines, including forklifts, manlifts, and other fleet equipment. Perform preventative maintenance inspections, major component replacements, and respond promptly to breakdowns to minimize downtime. Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems while maintaining accurate repair records and adhering to safety standards. Work day shift (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM) in a fast-paced industrial environment, lifting up to 50 pounds and operating various tools. Valid driver's license preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 3–7+ years of hands-on fleet mechanic experience working with diesel and gasoline-powered equipment
- Experience repairing and maintaining forklifts, manlifts, and similar industrial equipment
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance as well as major mechanical repairs
- Knowledge of diagnostic tools, repair procedures, and maintenance best practices
- Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and repair documentation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple repair tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver's license preferred
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended periods
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and industrial conditions
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop machinery
- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
