Job Summary
Vehicle Mechanic performs preventative maintenance on district and department vehicles, including specialized equipment such as tractors, yard equipment, forklift, hand trucks, and mowers; establishes preventive maintenance schedules, inspects and services vehicles (gas and diesel engines), replaces clutch and related components, uses diagnostic tools, maintains accurate inventory and records, and sources quotes from vendors while ensuring safety and compliance. Requires HS diploma/GED and Texas Driver License with a suitable driving history; typical duties include maintaining shop cleanliness, following safety procedures, and working irregular hours as needed.
