Job Summary
Vehicle Maintenance Supervisors oversee the day-to-day operations of the vehicle maintenance staff at a facility, supervising training, scheduling work assignments, and overtime while ensuring safety and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Responsibilities include coaching and mentoring direct reports with SAP usage, communicating status of fleet vehicles/equipment, ensuring quality and safety standards, performing vehicle inspections, managing parts inventory, ensuring timely paperwork, training staff to meet standards, and coordinating cross-functional work to maintain a positive work environment. The role also involves conducting employee observations and audits, performing road calls to repair vehicles, testing vehicles after repairs, performing mechanical duties as needed, and supervising a team of 6-20 employees.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years performing repairs and maintenance on diesel powered, heavy vehicles, hydraulics, equipment, and/or related components
- Experience with OSHA and DOT rules and regulations
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training
Additional Requirements
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years
- Must not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years
