Job Summary
Organize shop workflow from asset entry to exit, assign work items to mechanics, and monitor timely completion. Coordinate tire work with vendors, ensure proper inventory, and resolve OOS DVIRs via MOBI. Perform repairs on tractors and trailers, read complex schematics, and identify warrantable repairs while documenting findings. Maintain the 5S program, ensure safety and sanitation compliance, and communicate with dispatch regarding equipment needs. Prioritize assignments to meet business needs and ensure economical use of personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of post-secondary automotive/truck/HVAC technology program
- Valid driver's license required
- Possess or be able to obtain 608/609 Refrigeration Technician Certification
- Ability to obtain ASE certification in heavy truck
- Good Communication (written and verbal)
- Basic knowledge of computer systems including Windows and Microsoft
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs
- Able to reach and grab tools and equipment
- Able to stand and/or walk on concrete surfaces, and one place for extended periods of time
- Able to climb to heights of more than 24 inches with the use of a ladder and/or other climbing apparatus
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge in truck, trailer, and reefer industry
- CDL
- Diagnostic skills (Thermo King, Carrier, Bendix -ABS, Volvo, Cummins and Allison)
- TMT (Maintenance Software)
