Vehicle Maintenance Engineer

Vehicle Maintenance Engineer responsible for ensuring operational readiness, safety, and compliance of a fleet of collection and shredding vehicles. Responsibilities include routine servicing, safety inspections, preventative maintenance, and pre-inspection preparations for MOT testing on HGVs/LGVs; service and optimise onboard heavy-duty shredding machinery; diagnostic troubleshooting across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and auto-electrical systems; meticulous documentation of service records and safety compliance; rapid breakdown support to minimise client delays. Key skills include strong knowledge of heavy hydraulics, pneumatics, auto-electrics, diagnostic software, and experience with NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, plus a UK driving license (HGV Class 2 preferred). Willingness to pass background/security screening and adherence to health and safety regulations.
