Job Summary
Safely drive vehicles on and off multi-level railcars, move them to designated parking bays, and inspect railcar end doors while assisting with opening and closing them. Help raise and lower hinged railcar decks, position and install bridge plates, and use adjustable loading ramps during operations. Remove securement devices, store them properly, and inspect work areas and equipment before tasks begin. Report vehicle damage, unsafe conditions, or equipment concerns immediately, and maintain awareness of nearby vehicles and team members. Wear all required personal protective equipment and follow detailed driving and loading procedures. This active, outdoor role involves working in changing weather conditions, climbing heights over 16 feet, and performing physical tasks throughout the shift.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license when required to operate company vehicles or equipment
- Must be able to safely operate different types of passenger vehicles
- Must be dependable and able to report to work as scheduled
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and quality
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team is required
- Employees must be able to Work in changing weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, dust, and wind
- Employees must be able to Work around moving vehicles, rail equipment, and elevated noise levels
- Employees must be able to Frequently climb ladders and work at heights exceeding 16 feet
- Employees must be able to Walk, stand, bend, reach, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Properly wear all required personal protective equipment
