Vehicle Equipment Technician/Welder

Job Summary
Welding and maintenance of a wide range of vehicles and equipment per Army regulations; performs welding, brazing, and a variety of arc and gas welding processes; reads layouts, blueprints, or work orders; conducts maintenance and repair on heavy and tactical equipment; ensures compliance with Army regulations and manuals; shift 7:30AM-4:30PM; requires welding certifications, US citizenship, and ability to pass background checks and drug testing; on-site at DoD installations with potential travel to other sites.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess high school diploma or equivalent
- Must possess valid state Real I.D. Driver’s License
- Must be able to speak, write, read, understand English, and follow written/verbal directions
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be a self-starter; able to work as a team or independently, with limited supervision
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to new or changing instructions
- Must be able to multi-task and complete assignments accurately and on time
- Must be able to maintain high standards of confidentiality
- Must be willing to work flexible hours to accommodate requirements, sometimes under short notice, to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Overtime may be required
- Employee must complete timesheets daily
- Must submit to and pass random drug and/or alcohol testing
- Must perform other duties in accordance with requirements as directed
- This position requires 3 years of demonstrated experience
- This position requires welding certifications from an accredited agency
- Must pass a respirator and a physical test that will require a clean-shaven face
- Maybe required to take a welding re-certification test
- Security Requirements: Must be a US Citizen; Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check; Must pass the National Agency Background Check and obtain computer access; Must be able to obtain a CAC

- Must be a US citizen
- Must pass background checks (National Criminal Background Check and National Agency Background Check)
- Must be able to obtain a CAC
- Must be able to pass random drug and/or alcohol testing
- 3 years of demonstrated welding experience
- Must possess high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work flexible hours including days, nights, weekends and holidays
