Job Summary
Diagnose trouble sources and determine repair extents for gasoline and diesel engines powering lawn mowers, garden tractors, and similar equipment. Repairs major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, or tractors, including dismantling engines, replacing worn parts like piston rings and bearings, and overhauling transmissions. Adjust brakes, replace windshield wipers, rotate tires, and drain or replace engine oils and greases. Maintain tools and equipment while cleaning work areas. Perform duties at customer locations in offices, shops, warehouses, or outdoors, adhering to safety practices and communicating with vendors and management. Valid driver's license and 1-3 years of experience required.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED
- Formal apprenticeship or equivalent training/experience
- Minimum 1-3 years experience
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Valid driver's license
- Acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift or move tools, equipment or materials up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to work in areas of hazardous equipment
- Ability to work near or with toxic substances
- Ability to be exposed to wind, rain, cold, and heat
- Ability to be exposed to Noise
