Job Summary
Investigate, analyze, and reconstruct motor vehicle collisions; prepare defensible expert opinions for litigation. Perform detailed reconstructions of single- and multi-vehicle crashes using engineering principles and CAE-based tools; conduct field investigations and collision-scene documentation; inspect vehicles and mechanical systems; analyze ECMs/EDRs/ACMs; evaluate impact speeds, friction/drag, time-distance relationships, perception/response, and vehicle dynamics; create demonstrative exhibits (diagrams, animations, graphics); document and preserve evidence; prepare concise written reports and provide deposition/testimony; interface with clients, attorneys, and internal teams; manage project scopes, budgets, and schedules. Preferred: experience with heavy trucks, drone operations (FAA Part 107), reconstruction software (Virtual Crash, PC-Crash, HVE), and deposition/testimony experience. Ability to travel up to ~25%; combination of office, field, and litigation support work.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or related discipline) and/or applicable Law Enforcement experience
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and/or applicable Law Enforcement experience
- ACTAR certification
- 5–10+ years of experience in vehicle collision reconstruction
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prepare reports and testify as an expert witness
- Field investigations and collision scene inspections
