Job Summary
Support architectural production and documentation in Vectorworks across all project phases, integrating directly into the team's workflow. Draft design development and construction documents for residential and small-scale architecture, incorporating redlines, markups, and design feedback into drawing sets. Prepare and update plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and permit sets while maintaining consistency across documentation standards. Coordinate with the internal team to keep drawings organized and moving forward during busy project phases and tight deadlines. Assist with project coordination tasks, including consultant coordination and drawing updates, while supporting the studio during software and workflow transitions. This part-time, remote role aligns with Mountain Time and offers flexible senior-level production capacity for a New Mexico-based firm focused on quality, functionality, and sustainable design.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of architecture experience with a strong residential portfolio
- Advanced Vectorworks proficiency — comfortable producing full documentation sets independently
- Experience with residential, housing, or small-scale architectural projects that prioritize quality, craft, and context
- Strong drafting and documentation skills: permit sets, construction documents, redlines, and production workflows
- Ability to join a team mid-workflow, adapt to established standards, and keep documentation moving without a long ramp-up period
- Interest or experience in sustainable design, efficient spaces, durable materials, and context-sensitive architecture
- Advanced English level, both written and spoken
- Reliable availability and consistent communication aligned with Mountain Time
Desired Qualifications
- Comfort supporting a team going through internal software or process changes — flexible, solutions-oriented, and low-friction to onboard
- Experience with U.S. residential permit sets and familiarity with New Mexico or Southwest regional building codes
- Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining drawing quality and meeting deadlines
- Background in design-forward residential studios where craft, material selection, and site response are central to the work
