Job Summary
The Teacher, Exceptional Student Education (ESE), is responsible for the instruction of all areas of Exceptional Student Education in a classroom setting. Designs and implements appropriately specially designed instruction, accommodations, and supports aligned to state standards and IEPs; develops and implements IEPs including present levels, instructional goals, and related services; creates a positive educational climate for students with disabilities; employs varied teaching techniques to meet IEP goals; observes and evaluates student progress; manages classroom behavior with evidence-based interventions; communicates with parents and district personnel; ensures health and safety of students; provides oversight to paraprofessionals; maintains confidential records and FTE documentation; attends trainings to maintain ESE knowledge and certifications; adheres to district policies on equal opportunity and veteran-spouse preferences; requires Florida Professional Educator Certificate in Exceptional Student Education (preferred) or eligibility for Florida Temporary Certificate. Maintains required communication, assessment, planning, and organizational skills; flexibility to adapt duties as district needs evolve.
