Job Summary

Design and implement Specially Designed Instruction, accommodations, and supports for 6th Grade Math students in accordance with state standards and individual needs. Develop and execute Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) outlining present levels, instructional goals, and required services. Manage student behavior through positive behavior supports and evidence-based interventions while monitoring assessment data and grades. Communicate regularly with parents and district personnel regarding student progress. Provide oversight to paraprofessionals and maintain confidential records. Attend workshops to build Exceptional Student Education knowledge and skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Florida Professional Educator Certificate in Exceptional Student Education preferred
  • Eligibility for Florida Temporary Certificate required
  • Microsoft Office
  • Works with math concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry
  • Applies concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
