Job Summary
Senior VDI Systems Engineer leading end-to-end VDI engineering within a DoD-focused SCITES 2 program. Drive modernization through requirements analysis, solution design, and high-level program documentation. Lead lifecycle for VMware Horizon, DEM, App Volumes, and FSLogix, with image creation, patch cycles, and secure baseline enforcement. Own architecture and compliance tasks, including STIG/RMF artifacts, and collaborate across ISO/Enterprise-architecture standards. Requires DoD experience, current Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility, and on-site availability in Doral, FL. Strong emphasis on hands-on engineering, performance tuning, and leadership in technical delivery across distributed environments. On-site role with relocation support for qualified candidates.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship
- Current secret security clearance; eligible for TS/SCI
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; equivalent years of related experience considered
- 8+ years of related IT experience supporting VDI engineering or systems engineering
- 5+ years of overall experience in related fields
- Current Security+ certification or equivalent
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- Hands-on experience with VMware Horizon (including Horizon 2512), ESXi, vCenter, and storage technologies
- Experience with cloud-based or hybrid VDI solutions, systems modeling, automation frameworks, and observability tools
- Experience with RMF, STIGs, secure baseline management, and cybersecurity compliance requirements for virtualized environments
- Experience with Active Directory and scripting (Python and/or PowerShell)
- Experience with Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM), App Volumes, Instant Clone Pools, FSLogix for O365, VDI Gold Image management
- DoD Combatant Command experience (SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, etc.) or Service Component
- Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Availability to support on-site schedule
- Preferred: SCITES experience; CSEP/ESEP; ITIL PMP or Agile certifications
