Job Summary
VDC Specialist I coordinates HVAC, Piping, Plumbing, or Electrical VDC models for project use, develops and maintains coordination models, and leads others in detailing tasks. Responsibilities include running clash detection, reviewing shop/fab drawings for accuracy, interfacing with department personnel, interpreting blueprints and specifications, producing VDC models compliant with design criteria, tracking project milestones, and bridging pre-construction and construction phases. The role emphasizes safety and collaboration on projects with occasional site work.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of construction and/or engineering industry-specific experience.
- Familiarity with applicable Mechanical, Plumbing or Electrical building codes and safety laws.
- Intermediate-level knowledge of Autodesk products – Revit, Navisworks Manage, Fabrication MEP, etc.
- Proficient with Google platforms and apps (Google Sheets and Google Docs in particular.) or Microsoft Office (Word and Excel in particular).
- Ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) with diverse audiences.
- Must be organized, attentive to detail, and possess strong problem-solving skills.
- Capacity to effectively work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, as business needs dictate.
