Job Summary
VDC Modeler is an entry-level position for virtual construction within the ISAT Total Support employment structure. The role aims to develop general knowledge of ISAT components and technologies, the seismic design and submittal process, and VDC Service Group deliverables. Responsibilities include ensuring timely, accurate task completion; adhering to time-entry and productivity reporting standards within NEXUS; coordinating status updates with supervisors; developing basic proficiency with Navisworks (model navigation, clash detection, viewpoints, and file appending), Bluebeam (navigation/annotation), and Revit (model syncing, exporting, modeling principles, documentation tools); populating, coordinating, and exporting ISAT and CEAS content in BIM; producing 2D/3D deliverables per VDC Service Group standards (including Custom Engineering Details, Seismic Bracing, Vertical Supports, Point Loads, Geolocation Point Management); ensuring submitted work meets VDC quality control standards; and developing understanding of construction methods and relevant building codes (IBC, OSSC) to support project objectives. The role emphasizes drafting standards, clear communication with project teams, and ongoing learning within a collaborative, nationwide project environment; background check required.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
- Basic proficiency in Navisworks for model navigation and clash detection
- Basic understanding of Bluebeam for navigation and annotative purposes
- Basic understanding of Revit concepts including model syncing, exporting, modeling principles, and documentation tools
- Learn to populate, coordinate, and export all ISAT and CEAS related content in a BIM model
- Understand and create 2D and 3D deliverables consistent with VDC Service Group Standards
- Will demonstrate ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
