Job Summary
VDC Manager I in Dallas leads BIM coordination within Ryan's National Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Department, supporting project teams by applying VDC processes and standards. Responsibilities include independently managing the BIM process from early design through coordination, creating and executing the BIM Execution Plan, running BIM kickoff meetings, coordinating with trade partners and design stakeholders, developing the VDC Guide, handling RFIs, tracking coordination issues, and coordinating with project teams to resolve constructability and model-related challenges using BIM tools such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and related software. Requires advanced BIM knowledge, strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to lead cross-functional teams, with travel/relocation as needed to execute projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, construction management or BIM-related field or related two-year certificate combined with a minimum of 2 years industry experience
- 5+ years commercial construction experience in a BIM or VDC related role
- Advanced knowledge of building construction and BIM processes
- Advanced communication skills, verbal and written
- Intermediate ability to conduct effective presentations
- Ability to quickly and effectively solve complex problems
- Ability to perform work accurately, completely and in a timely manner
- Ability to understand construction schedules, architectural and engineering drawings
- Ability to lead project teams through the VDC process
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally
- Ability to interpret BIM project requirements and apply to VDC processes
- Advanced skills with BIM technology solutions including but not limited to: Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk AutoCAD, Bentley Synchro 4D, Rhino, Bluebeam, Procore BIM processes and workflows
- Willingness to travel, and/or relocate, as needed to execute projects
- Eligibility: Position requires verification of employment to work in the U.S.
