Job Summary
Lead end-to-end delivery across three or more complex electrical VDC projects, building and strengthening client relationships to achieve repeat work. Drive knowledge sharing and mentorship by developing internal training sessions on electrical coordination best practices while managing detailers and VDC engineers. Coordinate BIM updates, run clash detection on revised components, and communicate results to internal and external stakeholders. Model, draft, produce drawings, and read electrical plans to ensure digital coordination directly supports installation success. Work in a self-directed manner within a fast-paced environment, managing multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication and problem-solving. Collaborate with global teams using remote platforms, sometimes working early or late to align with international project schedules.
Required Qualifications
- US work authorization
- A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a similar discipline
- 5+ years of experience providing implementation, training, and support in BIM and VDC
- Managed 2-3 detailers and/or VDC Engineers
- 3+ years of experience working for an electrical trade contractor
- Experience in combining and coordinating BIM updates, running clash detection on revised components and communicating results to internal and external stakeholders
- Experience modeling, drafting, producing drawings, and reading electrical plans
- Capability to work effectively in a self-directed way within an extremely fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- The ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
- A proactive and flexible attitude; willingness to take an 'all hands on deck' approach
- The ability to work some early and/or late hours to coordinate with project teams in other countries
- Experience leading online meetings and training sessions across remote project teams using platforms
Desired Qualifications
- Field construction experience
- Been involved in the administrative side of projects: invoicing, budgeting, scheduling, and forecasting
- Knowledge of other primary building systems: foundations, primary building structure and walls, electrical, fire protection, specialty systems, conveying systems and interior finishes and the sequence of assembly of each
- Experience managing BIM and VDC across a project lifecycle
- Understanding of real world constructability of modeled systems
- A portfolio of work you can share
- Proven track record of effectively working with and managing teams remotely
- Background in providing professional services to clients
