Job Summary
The Electrical Modeler creates constructible, clash-free BIM models (LOD200-400) for electrical systems and produces shop, fabrication and installation drawings from coordinated models. Responsibilities include uploading models to cloud platforms (BIM360, ACC), maintaining progress updates via monday.com, exporting tfl/csv files for layout devices, running clash detection and generating reports, collaborating with Trades Specialists, Electrical Detailers and Foreman to ensure fully constructible designs, identifying cost-effective design methods and VE options, producing 3D design drawings and prefabrication isometrics, coordinating with internal/external MEP partners, participating in BIM coordination meetings, assisting in BIM protocol development, liaising with field staff, and ensuring ongoing updates to drawing management and project file sharing on Sharepoint. Familiarity with design software (Revit, eVolve Electrical) and cloud-based platforms (Procore, Sharepoint, Revizto, ACC, Box) is expected; bonus skills include experience with prefabricated electrical assemblies, NFPA 70/NEC code knowledge, and experience training others in BIM best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience modeling & detailing electrical systems
- Proficient using Autodesk software, including Fabrication MEP, Revit, Recap, ACC and Navisworks
- Experience using Revit add-on software’s & tools
- Experience with Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Excel, Word
- Experience using pdf viewers and markup software (Bluebeam)
- Knowledge of construction processes, means and methods
- Ability to operate, access and maintain diverse software applications
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent in communication and collaboration as well as a strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment while working with large teams
- Ability to project timelines for workload and meet strict deadlines
