Job Summary
Perform quality diagnostic vascular sonography examinations independently, screening patients for precautions and reviewing requisitions to ensure accurate clinical assessments. Operate sonographic equipment to identify and record findings, using independent judgment to differentiate normal from pathologic results and adapt procedures as needed. Analyze sonograms, synthesize medical history, and communicate oral or written summaries of technical findings to physicians. Maintain an orderly work area, uphold safety habits, and manage equipment and supplies while interacting professionally with staff and patients. Requires RVT or RVS certification, BLS, and five years of experience.
Required Qualifications
- Must be RVT or RVS and BLS certified
- 5 or more years of experience
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer
- Manual dexterity required for operating office equipment (e.g., computers, phones, fax machines)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally
- Visual acuity is required to perform tasks involving computer screens and paper documents
- Ability to move around the office to access files, office machinery, and other equipment
