Job Summary
Perform high-quality vascular ultrasound and non-invasive vascular procedures while triaging patients, verifying identification, and reviewing exam orders. Acquire and submit accurate images, worksheets, and templates for physician interpretation, then complete all required data entry and clerical tasks in NextGen and logbooks. Maintain compliance with clinical policies, procedures, and quality standards while obtaining and maintaining required credentials and continuing education. Organize and prioritize workload based on departmental needs to ensure assignments are completed within designated timeframes. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program (CAAHEP- or CMA-approved vascular/ultrasound training program)
- Current RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) certification required within 6 months of employment
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- 2 to 4 years of related experience in vascular ultrasound preferred
- Strong knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology
- Knowledge of vascular ultrasound safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Ability to understand and follow detailed examination protocols
- Ability to work effectively with patients with limited mobility or severe peripheral vascular disease
- Proficiency with ultrasound equipment and imaging software
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality imaging
- Regular sitting, standing, walking, reaching, wrist movement, grasping, fine motor skills, talking, and hearing
- Occasional bending, climbing, kneeling, and reaching overhead
- Infrequent crawling or crouching
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds regularly
