Job Summary
Perform vascular ultrasound examinations to assist in diagnosing medical conditions. Operate high-frequency diagnostic ultrasound equipment, obtain images, adjust settings, and prepare/position patients for optimal views. Review patient history, obtain prior authorizations for scans, and document measurements and preliminary reports for physician interpretation. Administer or prepare for IV contrast when indicated, maintain patient confidentiality, and comply with safety, infection control, and quality improvement policies. Maintain equipment and records, and perform additional duties as assigned. Requires education in sonography and certification (RVT or RVS) with ARDMS/CCI registration, BLS certification, Hepatitis B vaccination, and TB testing. Minimum 1 year of experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in sonography from an accredited school
- Certification of competency and registration preferred
- RV T or RVS certification (ARDMS/CCI)
- BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
- Hepatitis B vaccination and TB test requirements
- Minimum of 1+ year experience or training in vascular ultrasound
