Job Summary
Perform non-invasive peripheral vascular diagnostic examinations as ordered by physicians, independently evaluating normal versus abnormal results to generate preliminary reports for attending physicians, surgeons, and residents. Conduct sonographic duplex studies of the extremities, carotid arteries, renal vasculature, and aorta, including guidance for vascular access or needle placement for interventional procedures. Train new Associate Technologists and students in testing techniques, protocols, and reporting while presenting in-services to nursing and medical staff. Provide patient comfort and clear explanations during procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and perform equipment quality control. Work variable shifts as needed within the Vascular Lab.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED
- ARDMS - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Certification
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
- 1-2 years ultrasound training from an accredited training program
- Must have passed the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) examination
- 1-2 years previous ultrasound Experience (clinical training acceptable)
- BLS Certification
