Job Summary

Prepare patients and operate specialized ultrasound equipment to capture and evaluate high-quality images of blood vessels and assess blood flow. Document findings for physician interpretation, review patient charts for pertinent history, and explain testing procedures to ensure cooperation. Maintain and calibrate examination equipment, perform routine maintenance, and report malfunctions per established protocols. Apply gel and manipulate the transducer to obtain images of the highest resolution, photographing appropriate ultrasonic images for review. Relay emergent exam results promptly to the appropriate physician or medical floor while delivering patient care for all age groups.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of a training program accredited by the American Medical Association – Committee on Allied Health Education (AMA-CAHEA) for vascular ultrasound
  • Registered Vascular Technologist
  • Basic Life Support - CPR

Desired Qualifications

  • one year of post-graduate experience in vascular ultrasound
  • demonstrated high degree of proficiency, knowledge, and acuity in the field of diagnostics or ultrasound
