Job Summary
The Vascular Technologist performs diagnostic, non-invasive vascular exams on patients using ultrasound and physiologic testing equipment. Responsibilities include maintaining departmental accreditation, ensuring the quality and accuracy of patient data, and preparing patients for procedures. Knowledge of vascular anatomy and exam procedures is essential. Certification in vascular technology is preferred at hire and required within one year, along with BLS certification prior to direct patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in an applied health science field with concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography or other related study
- One year of experience as a vascular technologist
Desired Qualifications
- Credentialed in vascular technology by one of the following organizations: Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVT) or Vascular Sonographer by the ARRT
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Additional Requirements
- Must maintain accreditation and regulatory compliance of the Vascular department
- On-call required
