Job Summary
Perform non-invasive peripheral vascular diagnostic examinations as ordered by physicians, independently evaluating results to generate preliminary reports for attending physicians and surgeons. Conduct sonographic duplex examinations of the carotid, extremities, renal vasculature, aorta, and hemodialysis access sites, including guidance for vascular access procedures. Analyze test data against patient history and lab results to correlate normal versus abnormal findings. Train non-registered technologists and vascular ultrasound students in testing techniques, protocols, and interpretation while presenting in-services to nursing and medical staff. Maintain equipment, stock supplies, and perform quality control procedures while documenting patient care in hospital software. Provide outstanding service to external and internal customers by explaining procedures clearly and fostering trust. Work variable shifts as needed within the Vascular Lab.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED
- ARDMS - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Certification
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
- 1-2 years ultrasound training from an accredited training program
- Must have passed the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) examination
- 1-2 years previous ultrasound Experience (clinical training acceptable)
- BLS Certification
