Job Summary
Vascular Surgery Advanced Practice Provider provides for the expansion of healthcare services by diagnosing and treating vascular conditions, managing outpatient, pre-operative, and post-operative vascular surgery patients; responsibilities include obtaining history, conducting assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, developing care plans, prescribing or referring medications, patient education, documentation, staff training, interprofessional collaboration, and contributing to patient safety and department operations; role emphasizes collaboration with supervising physicians, trainees, and an established healthcare team at Dell Medical School with emphasis on improving quality of care and adherence to standards.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority
- credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing or the Texas Medical Board
- Experience in caring for adults with vascular disease preferred
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
- Capacity to work with trainees, including medical students and surgical residents
- Highly proficient in hospital and clinic EMR documentation and Microsoft Office applications
- Dell Medical School interest in excellence within learning health system
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
