Job Summary
Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) in vascular surgery collaborates with supervising physicians to diagnose and treat vascular conditions, providing outpatient, pre-operative, and post-operative management. Responsibilities include obtaining patient histories and performing assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, developing treatment plans, administering medications within formulary protocols or via supervising physicians, patient and family education, accurate documentation, staff/student education, and contributing to interprofessional care and patient-safety improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority
- Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing or the Texas Medical Board
- Experience in caring for adults with vascular disease preferred
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Capacity to work with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Capacity to work with trainees, including medical students and surgical residents
- Proficiency in hospital and clinic EMR documentation and Microsoft Office applications
- Dell Medical School interest in excellence within learning health system
