Job Summary
Perform diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images for interpretation. Set up and adjust equipment, manually maneuver transducers, and implement safety standards while performing routine and complex studies. Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations, ensuring proper functioning and prompt submission of labeled images to PACS. Maintain a clean department and comply with regulatory agencies while working in a constant state of alertness. Requires completion of a Sonography program and ARDMS or CCI registry in Abdomen, OB/GYN, or Vascular within 12 months of hire. Pay starts at $35/hour with PRN schedule, 1 weekend call monthly, and 1 day weekly call.

- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Abdomen (AB) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Constant standing and walking
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more)
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication
- Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs
- Frequent lifting/moving of patients
- Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs
- Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors
- Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements
- Rare kneeling and sitting
