Job Summary
Vascular Sonographer needed for per diem coverage to perform vascular ultrasound studies across neonatal to geriatric patients. Responsibilities include selecting transducers, obtaining and recording images and measurements, maintaining patient records, providing clinical guidance to non-registered staff, coordinating with physicians, and ensuring adherence to department protocols and regulatory standards. Role involves on-call duties with weekday and weekend coverage, on-site in Frederick, MD, and requires ARDMS RVT (or equivalent) registration, CPR certification, and ongoing CME to maintain licensure. Pay is hourly and based on experience, with a part-time schedule and potential shift differentials. This role supports the department’s operations and patient care delivery within Frederick Health.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school for cardiovascular diagnostic sonography or equivalent documented experience
- National ARDMS RVT registration in Vascular Sonography or equivalent CCI registration required within one year of hire
- Current CPR certification
- Experience with neonatal to geriatric patient populations
- Ability to perform vascular studies and operate ultrasound equipment
- Ability to provide leadership for non-registered staff
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Documentation and data management competency
- Knowledge of infection control protocols
