Job Summary
Vascular Sonographer performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging to assess blood vessels and related conditions at Mercy Hospital Springfield (Heart Hospital). Requires ARDMS/CCI/ARRT credentials or registry-eligibility with up to 6 months to obtain the registry; BLS; no prior experience required. Full-time days with patient-focused collaboration in a hospital setting; involves lifting, standing, and extensive patient care. Required Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of a school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours OR received on the job training by a Preceptor who is registered in Cardiac ultrasound
- Experience: No experience needed
- Licensure: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice
- Certification/Registration: ARDMS (RVT) or CCI(RVS) or ARRT(RVS) or registry eligible (must obtain registry within 6 months of eligibility)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Proficient knowledge in producing diagnostic images, ability to recognize technical abnormalities
- Knowledge of machine operation and safety procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative healthcare environment
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and perform standing/walking for long shifts
