Job Summary
Conduct image-guided minimally invasive procedures by assisting physicians with diagnostic angiography and complex vascular interventions. Obtain necessary equipment, position and image patients, resolve equipment issues, and administer and document contrast throughout the procedure. Corroborate patient clinical history, provide patient assessment and monitoring, and perform post-processing of digital data for records. Maintain sterile technique, ensure radiation safety, and operate fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and ancillary therapeutic devices. Perform periodic weekend and off-hour calls as required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology
- 1 year of Radiology experience
- Hospital based experience
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations
- Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Computer literacy
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Ability to learn and use new processes, tools, and equipment as required
- Ability to lift and carry, up to 200 feet, 50lbs, unassisted
- Ability to lift patients and move patients to 350lbs (+/-), assisted
- Ability to lift objects from floor level to height of 72 inches, to 50lbs, unassisted
- Ability to lower objects, to 50lbs (+/-), from height of 72 inches, unassisted
- Ability to push/pull objects/patients to 350lbs (+/-), unassisted
- Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected
- Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand
- Ability to see and recognize objects at a distance
- Ability to match or discriminate between colors
- Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception
- Good peripheral vision capabilities
- Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction
- Ability to hear and understand whispered conversations at a distance of 3 feet
- Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements
- Ability to be qualified physically (by medical personnel) for respirator use, initially and annually
- Ability to perform job functions while standing
- Ability to perform job functions while sitting
- Ability to perform job functions while walking
- Ability to climb ladders/step stools
- Ability to work indoors
- Ability to work from elevated areas, specifically step stools
- Ability to work in confined/cramped spaces
