Job Summary
The Varsity Head Coach for Girls’ Soccer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the girls’ soccer program at Detroit Cristo Rey High School. Key responsibilities include leading and supervising practices, teaching fundamental soccer skills, building a positive team culture, and ensuring safety and discipline during all activities. The coach must communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff while managing assistant coaches and player development. Previous coaching experience, strong knowledge of soccer fundamentals, and excellent leadership skills are required.
Required Qualifications
- Previous coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level required
- Must pass all required background checks and complete required certifications (Virtus, CPR/First Aid)
- Commitment to upholding the mission and values of Detroit Cristo Rey High School
Desired Qualifications
- Head coaching experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of soccer fundamentals, game strategy, and player development
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes of diverse backgrounds and skill levels
Additional Requirements
- Must complete required certifications (Virtus, CPR/First Aid)
- Must pass all required background checks
