Job Summary
Head Varsity Coach leads the varsity basketball program at Sacramento High School, supervising the varsity staff and assisting with JV and Freshman coaching. Works with the Athletic Director to implement a basketball program aligned with the school’s vision, coordinates transportation, identifies and coordinates tournaments, helps create and maintain a master schedule, disseminates materials to student-athletes, and ensures CIF rules and procedures are followed. Responsibilities include improving academic success, safety, character development, sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, and work ethic; and supervising personnel with prior leadership experience. Required qualifications include prior coaching experience, ability to supervise staff, and CIF/Concussion/SC A/Heat acclimatization training plus CPR/First Aid certification. Stipend of $1,000 per season; application via the school’s site.
Required Qualifications
- Desire to teach/work at Sacramento High School preferred
- Successful coaching experience
- Ability to supervise personnel through previous leadership experience
- CIF Certifications - General Coaching Education course
- Concussion course
- Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) training
- Heat Acclimatization course
- CPR and First Aid Certification
